Then again, maybe not.

Well I did it...finally chose which movies to take with my to the university.

Of my movies (http://juliette713.dvdaf.com/owned and http://juliette713.dvdaf.com/owned/classics, respectively), I selected 56 of 'em. Well, 51...the others aren't really "movies."

I'm sure I'll still come home often to switch things around, but as of now, my college movies are (would it be terribly inconvenient to ask for a drum roll?)....

Yea? Nay? How could you forget insert film title here Juliette, you stupid git?

Because that's pretty much the extent of my post for today, and I wouldn't want you little dears to hate me, here's some randomness!

Ginger. Dig those shades.

Doris, at home.

Kate, on the set of Sylvia Scarlett. I assume. ;)

Rita and Orson, bullfighting. Nearly.

Random thought for the day....I'm currently listening to "June Is Busting Out All Over" from Carousel. When I was little I thought June was the girl's name. Yikes.

And a very happy birthday to Miss Jean Hagen. A gifted comedienne, but also a whiz at dramatics.

City Lights,39 Steps and Top Hat are eternal with me too..lol..Hitch looks like he has all his favorites lined up..probably all his movies too!
"..when Napolean at Waterloooo la la..." :o))

Haha, they are his movies! I think they're his films in chronological order, with Torn Curtain on top.

Glad you're enjoying the songs. :) :)

Oh my god, that must have been next to impossible to decide. I know when I went to school. It is an agonizing decision. Good choice on bringing some of my favs Gone with the Wind, How to Marry a Millionaire, Top Hat, Laura, Double Indemnity, and of course Clueless (brings back good memories of high school for me0

Great pics too!

I know, right? Gosh...it was pretty hard. But I'm only going to be an hour or two away from home, so I can always swap them. :)

Haha, yes! Glad someone out there likes Clueless too.

You're gonna regret not taking Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man.

bahaha. that's like me thinking 'don't cry for me argentina' was about a man.

EPIC LIST. in spicy club sauce.

Juliette. said...

Hahaha, what?? That's great-- I thought Argentina was a gal's name until, well...not recently, but still. ;)

I'm guessing by that last comment that you're an Arrested Development fan as well? Unless you were just reading a menu to Liza Minnelli and accidentally typed what you were saying. ;)

what? No Angles with Dirty Faces? No Flesh and the Devil? No Paths of Glory? No Pandora's Box or Diary of a Lost Girl? No Vertigo, Rear Window or North by Northwest? No Goodfellas, Raging Bull or Taxi Driver? and NO Star Wars??? HOW on earth will you survive?

heheheh just kidding with ya! that is a very ecclectic and hella cool batch of films! several would be for my list as well!

love that Ginger pic, whew!!!

Juliette. said...

Ahh! Haha, actually, I've just added Diary of a Lost Girl to my batch. So there. ;)

Well thanks. :)

What? No "Vertigo?" LOL

Juliette. said...

Believe it or not-- I've never much cared for Vertigo. I know, that's like Hitchcock blasphemy, but I can't help it...of the movies in his "golden age," I much prefer Dial M for Murder.

Artman2112 said...

hey ya like what ya like right? i found the Dark Knight to be a huge disappointment (except Ledger's Joker) but it seems like everyone else on the planet loved it. i am a big fan of Dial M too, but Vertigo is to me, one of the great masterpieces of Cinema, period. BUT i do admit it is not a path of suffering i am willing to go down that often! every now and then Bernard Herrmann's music will creep into my head and that's what usually sets the stage for another viewing of Vertigo. And now that i've talked about it i can see me poppping that film in this weekend!

anyway good for you for adding Diary of a Lost Girl.... now you just need a Clara Bow film - Wings anyone?

Juliette. said...

Agreed about The Dark Knight, actually. Like you said, Heath Ledger's performance was deliciously creepy, but the rest of it left me cold.

Ooh, true... the music in Vertigo is one of it's more terrific aspects. Pleasant viewing!

I don't have Wings. :(
I did, however, order It recently, so if it (haha, It...sorry for the lame humor there) comes in time, I'll add that one.
